Crunchy Anchovies Trata on Ice with Vinegar-flavored Peppers
    Ingredients
  • 1 package of Trata on Ice anchovies 400gr
  • 200 gr of fine semolina
  • 300 ml of oil for frying
  • 800 gr red peppers
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh thyme
  • 200 ml olive oil
  • 200 ml red wine vinegar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
PREPARATION
Preparation Time:15 minutes

Allow the anchovies to reach room temperature. Wash the peppers. Cut the stem out and cut them in slices. Preheat the oven to 200° C . Place the peppers in an oven tray together with the garlic and bake until they are soft and their skin is brown. This should take about 20 minutes. When the peppers are ready, move them to a bowl together with the liquids from baking, mix them together with the oil, vinegar, and thyme and let them marinate. Meanwhile, prepare the anchovies. Dry the fish and dip them into the semolina. Heat the frying oil well. Place the fish in the frying pan one by one. They should fit comfortably without touching each other. Fry for 3 minutes on each side. The fish will be ready when golden brown. When the fish are ready, let them drip onto a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve the fish on pita bread together with the baked peppers.
