We support the local community
Our primary concern is to support the economic and social stability of the Greek region.
Our production unit in Kilkis relies mainly on locals. People who live permanently in the area, with whom we build lasting relationships.
We also prioritize the procurement of raw materials and services from local suppliers, as long as they meet our quality and economic criteria.
Our procurement policy follows the strategy of strengthening the local economy, offering business opportunities and employment to local professionals. During the supplier evaluation and selection process, the criterion of locality is given a very positive assessment.
Finally, we support social initiatives, collaborate with schools, organizations, municipalities, and NGOs to promote ideas and practices that will make sustainable development and environmental protection a common practice rather than an exception to the rule.
Sponsorships
A permanent collaboration with ENALEIA on the Mediterranean clean-up program to collect used fishing equipment which is then recycled into sustainable products. In 2023 about 6000 kg of used nets were collected from the port of Kavala and Sporades and turned into socks for our staff. Moreover, in 2022 an additional initiative was carried out with a fishing boat where plastic was collected from an inaccessible beach in Halkidiki.
We support the work of the "Together with the Child" association through our participation and sponsorship in No Finish Line Athens. In addition, we offer our staff free registration to the race.
Since 2018, we have been supporting the action of MoM and more specifically the research project NORTHERN AEGEAN DOLPHIN PROJECT, aiming to raise awareness on marine conservation and sustainable resource management. In 2023, five KONVA employees selected through a draw visited Alonissos for a week and became part of the MoM research team.
In 2022, we supported the effort organized by the cultural-environmental association Arctic Circle, for an epic expedition in the uncharted waters of the Arctic, using a rigid inflatable boat (RIB). The purpose of the trip was to document the impacts of climate change and to raise public awareness on this issue.
For 2022, we partnered with Wise Greece and offered 250 hope boxes to “Agrotiki Paidiki Folia”. In 2023, through the 0.01€ initiative for each package of Lenten KONVA products, we raised €3000 for the summer camps for families in need of the Youth Foundation of the Metropolitan of Halkidiki and Serres.
KONVA collaborated with iSea to create activities open to the public, aiming to educate young and old on the protection of aquatic ecosystems.
For 2022, at the KIDOT family festival, together with ISEA we have organized activities open to the public with hands-on games to educate young and old on the protection of aquatic ecosystems. Free tickets were offered to staff.
