The first robotized line for sardine production, the mechanized production line for tuna salad, squid and octopus with a multihead weigher, as well as the great flexibility in packing the end products are but a few of the examples that demonstrate our commitment to progress and efficiency.

PRODUCTION CAPACITY:

  • The history of the Tzikas family, founders and owners of KONVA, begins in 1870, when Thrasybulus and George Tzikas opened two grocery stores in Veria.

  • In 1910, their nephews, Thomas and Mercurios, create a blossoming food industry, “TZIKAS BROS Foods” in Thessaloniki. They handle smoked herring, salted cod, salted fish, roe and various canned seafood.

  • Later, in 1945, Thomas’ children (Michael and Antonios), together with Mercurios’ sons (Antonis and Takis) continue their commercial activities founding TZIKAS BROS company in Athens, and begin importing canned meat.

  • First launch of FLOKOS brand.

  • First launch of TRATA brand.

  • In 1990, the construction of the company’s seafood production and canning unit, based in Kilkis, is completed. The company now shows constant growth holding the first place in the industry of canned seafood in Greece and the Balkans.

  • The first international collaboration with LIDL Hellas for the production of privately labeled products. Today, the company holds long-standing, strong partnerships with major foreign companies.

  • KONVA shows significant growth abroad, as it now exports its TRATA products to 20 European counties, as well as in Asia and the US.

  • Major investment in expanding the plant (3.000.000 euro), creating new units for chilled and frozen products.

  • Patented a state-of-the-art robot for the use in production, which has already earned the company a prize. This comes to prove the company’s great expertise in production and handling of seafood.

  • Joined the global network of Endeavor.
